Gosh, I loved this wedding. From Hannah and Bryce, to their families, wedding party and those who love them, even down to the vendors who helped to pull everything together…. this wedding left me… full… It was amazing to watch their relationships, to see how much love they have for those around them and how much they are loved, and to see the adoration they have for each other. You can feel it from their photos. Just look…it will bring a smile to your day!
Just look at her Mama watching her! <3
So lovely, Hannah!!
Bryce and Hannah opted to do a First Look, and I’m so glad they did! These photos of them spending a few moments together before their day took off are priceless. It set the tone for their wedding day, and I know they will treasure this time forever!
While the guests were enjoying cocktail hour, Hannah and Bryce took a moment together in an upstairs library. I popped in right before they were to join their guests to grab a few photos.
Hannah has the BEST laugh!

How did the two of you meet?
Hannah: We met in college through mutual friends. I didn’t stay at that school, so it took about two years for us to get reconnected and then it took us quite a while to start dating. But I knew from day one that this was the man I would marry!
Bryce: Long story short: Hannah’s friends became my friends, but Hannah and I were only acquaintances. Eventually a wedding, a snow storm, a cancelled trip to Chicago, and the need for a designated driver set us on the path to dating.
What was your most memorable memory of your wedding day?
H: Walking down the aisle was very memorable for me. It was so touching to have my dad there, see so many loving faces in the church, and to see Bryce waiting for me at the altar, knowing we would say our vows and commit to one another in just a few minutes. It was a nice quiet moment that was unexpectedly emotional for me.
B: Standing at the altar during Pastor’s sermon, which combined so much of his relationship with the both of us, was the most memorable part for me.
Any advice for future bride/grooms?
H: Don’t take your wedding day too seriously. Yes, it’s very important and special, but in the end, the only thing that matters is getting married. People won’t remember what shoes your bridesmaids were wearing or that you wanted white roses instead of cream ones. Savor your engagement, the wedding planning, and the big day (it all goes so quickly), but don’t forget to roll with the punches a little too.
B: Decide one thing: as long as we wind up married at the end of the day, the wedding was a success. Also, when buying plane tickets, be sure to mind the difference between Portland, ME and Portland, OR.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
H: The funniest moment for me was my dance with my maid of honor. We have been best friends and “sisters” for over 10 years, so she requested a dance with me at the reception. I happily obliged and we danced to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story. While it was a very special moment, we also realized it was quite silly to be dancing together in front of everyone. We danced and laughed and perhaps a few little tears were shed. It was wonderful.
B: For some reason I can’t quite remember, but one of our guests gave a toast that only Hannah and I “got”, and we both burst out laughing while everyone else looked on in conspicuous silence. Good story, I know.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
H: The only thing I would change would be allowing myself to actually eat the food at the reception. It was all incredibly yummy, but there was too much going on to eat very much of it. I regret not eating a whole piece of cake very much.
B: Ditto. More of that fried chicken should have entered my belly.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
H: We went to Bar Harbor, Maine. It was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed at a beautiful B&B, hiked in Acadia National Park, took a sailing lesson, and ate lobster about 8 different ways. I sort of wish we were still there.
B: What she said. We went through Fort Lauderdale, Boston, and Portland by plane, train, taxi, and shuttle to get there, but it was fantastic. I’m certain we will return someday.
What was your favorite detail?
H: It’s hard to pick just one, so I won’t! My favorite details were the ones made possible by our dear friends and family. Our monogram, cake, invitations, music, and a lot of the decorations were all made by people very dear to us. We were also fortunate to have our own Pastor (and another good friend) as officiant, which made the wedding service even more special. Involving friends and family whenever possible made those details so very precious and memorable.
B: The groomsmen’s socks. I don’t know how many people actually saw them, but just knowing that there were four pairs of yellow and blue argyle socks at this wedding made me happy.
