When Chris and Brittany asked if I would be their wedding photographer, I was pretty stoked. Their super fun, they’ve been together forever, and their love for one another was so evident right from the get go during their engagement photos. I knew we were a great fit …and then when they decided to bring us along on their destination wedding on a Royal Carribean Cruise ship, I just about jumped for joy! Ha! What fun this was sure to be!! And my high hopes for an epic wedding were definitely met!!
Chris and Brittany were getting married on the ship during one of the days at sea, but with ports of call like St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Curacao and Aruba, beach photos were a definite must!! So early in the morning at St. Kitts, we raced to a nearby quiet beach and used up the first part of the day taking beautiful pictures to mark their trip. On the way, our cab driver stopped at this beautiful overlook where you could see where the Atlantic and Caribbean meet.
Before we left, I’d researched the beaches around St. Kitts and found out that all of the beaches there are public, but thanks to these tall mangroves and the neighborhood nearby, this beach is often forgotten. It was the perfect quiet spot for us that morning!
Hurricane Matthew had come through just a few days earlier, and while the island avoided the storm directly, all of the beaches were pretty churned up with seaweed and the skies were pretty stormy. Nevertheless, St. Kitts was absolutely gorgeous!
You know I couldn’t resist using this sweet little dock!
Gosh I want to go back.
Loved this little shell that Brittany found!
The next day, it was wedding time! ♥
I swear this day was something out of the Little Mermaid. And Brittany’s perfect shoes…she bedazzled them herself. The were perfect.
I so loved getting to know all of their friends and family throughout the week. They are surrounded by some pretty amazing people.
Chris and Brittany knew they wanted a first look so they could privately read the vows they wrote…but finding a private space on a cruise ship on a sailing day is no small feat! We ended up finding this perfectly quaint little chapel at the very top of the ship.
They held their ceremony in a window filled lounge, and the captain officiated. It was perfect.
Then the ship’s staff let us use the ship as a gorgeous backdrop for portraits to mark their day!
After hanging out with their friends and family for a bit of happy hour, Chris and Brittany wanted to grab a few minutes of sunset together before heading to dinner. It didn’t take much to talk me into it.
With nothing to block the setting sun, it felt like twilight could last forever. And that pink light is just SO pretty!
Goodness what an adventure this was!! Congratulations you two!! Such a privilege to watch you say “I do”!!
And don’t worry friends, there’s more where this came from!! We just got to celebrate with these two again this past weekend at their Colorado reception…so be checking back…you won’t want to miss it!
