Isaiah loves Leslie | Colorado Wedding Photographer

Love this girl!! Leslie has been a part of my life for EVER….and she’s amazing. Caring, thoughtful, kind…even with all of the miles between us, she’s still one of the first people to wish me happy birthday or happy anniversary. I am so happy for her and Isaiah! And just as happy I got to be a part of their day when they committed the rest of their days to one another.

Maybe it’s because I’m wrapping this up just a few days before Christmas…or maybe it’s just because Leslie has gorgeous legs….whatever….this reminds me of the infamous lamp from A Christmas Story.

Not gonna lie….this moment between these two totally made me weepy.

LOVE. Like, LOVE, LOVE! 🙂

How did the two of you meet?
Isaiah and I met at church. The first time I saw him he was on stage with his carpet python when our Pastor was doing a sermon series on fear. I thought he was very handsome and wanted to meet him. That was in July. In August, I started going back to our college group at church where he was highly involved. We started to hang out hang out a little bit, but he definitely made me chase him for several months before we went out on our firs date.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
There are so many great memories from our wedding day it is hard to choose just one. Our first look was very intimate. I was surprised at how nervous I was to see him… I wasn’t sure how to approach him. Our time together was very nice before the craziness of pictures and wedding ceremony and reception took over. I also enjoyed our ceremony, although it seems to be a big blur at this point. Everything happened so quickly. I wish I could go back and do that magical day all over again.
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Probably the number one thing I would say is slow down and enjoy every moment of our special day because it passes so quickly. I would also say if you want to start getting up and talking to your guests, DO IT! That is one regret I have… our wedding planner told us to stay seated because we would be doing toasts soon… after waiting 20-25 minutes, we ended up wasting time and not getting to talk to most of our guests. I would say, do want you want, its your day, and its all about you!
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
I would have gotten up and started making my rounds to see everyone, and then be called back to the table for the toast, instead of wasting that time.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Speaking of toasts, our best man’s toast, Isaiah’s brother Michael, was probably one of the funniest parts of our wedding, besides the girls sinking into the sand with their heels while trying to take pictures before the wedding. Michael’s started off the toast by asking me to place my hand on the table, then he had Isaiah put his hand on top of mine and proceeded to say, “Isaiah, cherish this moment because it’s the last time you’ll have the upper hand.” At the end of his speech, he then end with, “Isaiah, you may now kiss my sister.” That wasn’t awkward or anything.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We only went on a weekend getaway to a spa in Santa Fe for our “Pre” honeymoon. We were unable to take more time off since I am first year teaching and Isaiah is in school. We plan to go on a real honeymoon to some where tropical this summer!
What was your favorite detail?
That’s a great question. Besides our FABULOUS photographer! (and my gorgeous dress;) I would have to say the stage and reception decorations… Our wedding coordinator spent a lot of time making every detail look very elegant, which created a beautiful wedding ambiance for us and our guests.
