Jeff loves Kristina | Della Terra Wedding Photographer

You might remember these two from their super fab mountain engagement session from this summer. I’ve been counting down the days to this wedding ever since!! Kristina and Jeff’s vision for her wedding was a winter wonderland. Kris wanted to get married in the mountains in the heart of winter, and was so hoping for snow. We’ve had a drier than average winter around here…not sure how the big storms keep missing us, but when we arrived in Estes Park the night before their wedding, I was a little bummed when it was dry as could be. Miracle of miracles though, the next morning we woke to softly falling snow that stuck around for us a bit thanks to very cold temps. Della Terra was AMAZING at helping them pull of their OUTSIDE winter wedding with heaters and hand warmers galore. What a sweet treat this heard of big horned sheep were!

When Rooted Floral & Design showed up with these gorgeous blooms, I might have squealed.

LOVED, LOVED Kristina’s details!! Her amazing MOH made the little flower girl capes and the gorgeous stoles that the bridesmaids wore. And she had her FAB suede boots custom made. They were the coolest shoes.
While the girls primped, the boys spent the morning watching Nacho Libre and doing a bit of yoga.
I just love first looks! Not only does it let the bride and groom start their day together, giving them more time together, but they are just the sweetest moments!

I was so glad they brought their sweet pup, Aspen, for a few pictures before their wedding. She’s such a huge part of their life.
And then their ring “bear” came running through the woods to show off his ceremony duds. CUTEST EVER.
Seriously you guys. I’ve been drooling over these images ever since this day. SO MANY that I just LOVE!!!!
I loved that Kris chose greenery for the girls bouquets. It was so perfect for this wintery day.
RAWR!!
Have I mentioned lately how much I love having Cary second shoot with me? The stories we’re able to tell together are just so much more full. My view. His view.

Jeff’s custom suit was incredible. Like, truly so unique. There were touches of his German heritage all throughout the day. I just love details that reflect who you are.

Ceremony time!!

MARRIED and SO happy!!
Music is a huge part of who these two are. They met in a music theory class in college, have performed in operas together, and Jeff’s career is in music. So I loved that they rang out their joy by having their guests play instruments while they ran through after signing their marriage license. Such a JOY filled moment!

While the guests headed on to cocktail hour, we grabbed family photos and then snuck away for some freshly married photos at sunset.

These moments between the ceremony and reception letting the realness of this day sink in are just the BEST!!

Mmmmmm.
Aren’t their rings gorgeous!?

Kristina’s mama made the desserts, and they were delicious!
Their toasts were so endearing and full of love and FUNNY!
Instead of a traditional unity ceremony, Jeff and Kris chose to do a German log sawing ceremony, which signifies the married couple solving their first struggle together.
Jeff & Kristina, I just adore you two!! Thank you, thank you for making us a part of your AMAZING, perfectly unique, fabulously fun wedding day!! So glad to call you friends! ♥

Jeff & Kristina | In their own words…

How did the two of you meet?
We met our freshman year at UNC back in 2007. We had music theory class together and saw each other in choirs/opera classes throughout the year.

What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
B:Running through the line of guests playing musical instruments-we hadn’t seen anyone yet so it was this moment of just being surrounded by love all of a sudden and seeing face after face of our closest family and friends all at once.
G: My favorite memory was the few minutes Kris and I got to spend together alone before we made our entrance into the reception. It was our first chance to breathe and the point where it finally sunk in..you’re my wife..we’re actually married!

Funniest memory from your day?
B:Either Erika getting elbowed in the eye ball by Jackie (MYP: See slideshow for a play by play), or PJ’s speech
G: PJ’s speech/roast of Kristina was definitely the funniest part of the evening. What an epic speech!

What was your favorite detail?
B:Mark’s bear costume and the girls’ capes
G: Each of the songs played during the ceremony-and our entrance music to the reception- were from operas that Kris and I were in together over the last ten years.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
B:Yah-I would schedule a 4th dress fitting and I would plan fewer events the week of
G: If I could do it all over, I would remember to take my own advice and wear more layers. We’ve lived in Summit county for how many years and we were caught unprepared by the cold? Who are we??

Any advice for future brides and grooms?
B: Literally nothing about your wedding matters except that you are marrying the love of your life
G: Don’t forget to eat food and keep your blood sugar up!

Tell me about your honeymoon.
We explored Whistler and Vancouver in beautiful British Columbia. There was much skiing, Aprés-ski, and not to mention many excellent eating excursions.
