I got to meet up with Ryan and Amy and their sweet kiddos to take family portraits this past Sunday (seriously they are some of the cutest and sweetest kids ever!). You might remember seeing their kiddos faces on here last month. Since my session with the kids went really well, I had super high hopes for an easy family shoot – which any photographer will tell you isn’t always how it goes when children are involved. It had been a long day for all of us with church in the morning and our church picnic after, and then their shoot in the evening, and Little Miss {M} just wasn’t having it. It was pretty funny really. She was quite content when she could be on her own, but as soon as she would realize she was surrounded by her family with my camera pointed at her, she would change her mind about the whole deal. I just had to laugh! 🙂 She definitely made us all work for it! I even reassured her parents that if they don’t get pictures they are happy with then we would meet again on a less eventful day. Well, when I began editing their images, I was pleasantly surprised to find these gems…. Ryan & Amy, I’ll have your proof site up very soon, but in the meantime, I hope these will tide you all over. Thanks so much for meeting with me after such a busy day! I truly adore your children, maybe even especially when they determine to do their own thing! 🙂
AngieI absolutely love the green in these pictures. A lot of families choose black or white, but the green shirts in the photos makes them come alive!
I too have had sessions that I think deserve a ‘do-over’, but that’s what happens with kiddos… and a lot of times what ends up happening is you capturing the true heart of the family which ends up being even more precious.
Great job Melissa, and every day I look to see if you have more work posted because I enjoy your pictures so much. 🙂
