Anna & Harmonie | Mobile, AL Senior Photographer

I got to spend a few hours with Anna & Harmonie for their double senior sessions on Saturday. They are best friends and wanted to get some portraits together as well as their individual senior portraits. Well…the session was weird…I don’t really know a better word for it… It started out okay, and then we decided to get some shots of the girls on the train tracks…that’s normal right? Everyone gets pictures on the train tracks….well…evidently that’s against the law, which I found out when a policeman drove up behind me and blared his siren. It scared me so bad that I jumped and tripped on the track rails, which caused me to fall, taking pictures all the way down. I broke my 50 mm lens (my fav). 🙁 SO upset about this…mostly upset because I still don’t understand why the policeman couldn’t have just talked to us… I mean, with the girls on the tracks, and me with my camera, and Anna’s mom watching from the sidelines, it was totally obvious that we weren’t trying to cause trouble…not to mention that we were directly behind the fire department. To top it off, the policeman wasn’t very nice, and then, because I got pretty banged up, we had to stand there for a good 45 minutes…wasting Anna & Harmonie’s shoot time…so the fire department could drive their fire truck behind their own building to come make sure I wasn’t any more than scraped and bruised. Then his boss had to come and get a report… which was probably the only decent thing about the experience with the original officer. The sergeant (captain?) was very nice and understanding of my frustration and is looking into the possibility of getting my lens reimbursed… we’ll see how that goes… Anyway, by the end of it all, we were all pretty flustered and frustrated to say the least, but I desperately wanted to recover and make the best of the night so all wasn’t lost. Anna’s mom had to leave because she had dinner guests coming, but the girls and I decided to get coffee down the street so we could regroup… just so you know… coffee fixes nearly everything. 😉 Thankfully, I had brought another lens with me, and after we grabbed some coffee, we were really able to get some really great shots! I actually loved getting a bit of extra time with the girls. It was really fun to get to know them a bit! (Love you girls!! :)) I had so much fun with them, and they were up for anything! After shooting for a little while, it started raining, so we’re meeting up for a few more shots later this week. Just consider this sneak peek #1. OH, I almost forgot the other weird thing… while we were shooting after all of the craziness, a train drove by with these on it…. yep…those are planes! So strange!
