Matthew loves Chelsea | Golden, Colorado Wedding Photographer

According to Matt’s best men, Matt and Chelsea fell in love while working at their university paper…the boys caused trouble and Chelsea kept them in line. Even with the trouble they caused, Matt’s quick wit caught her attention though, and 9 years later, they tied the knot on top of a mountain, with all of their friends and family cheering for them.

Chelsea’s rings were set in rose gold…I kind of love them.

Chelsea’s dress was absolutely stunning with the champagne lining and lace overlay. It was perfect for her.

I loved Matt & Chelsea’s First Look!! I kind of go either way when it comes to First Look’s, but for these two, together was the perfect way to start their day.

Once they had taken a few quiet moments together, we headed down the hill behind Mount Vernon Country Club for a few portraits.

Matt’s suit was so sharp…a hint for future grooms….buying a tailored suit is SO MUCH BETTER than renting a tux!!! And you’ll be way more comfortable! Bonus!!

And, as has been the trend for my 2015 weddings, their wedding party was FANTASTIC! Great friends, all around!
Live music during the ceremony, happy hour and dinner was provided by Chelsea’s aunt and uncle…they were amazing, like really, truly spectacular. Chelsea, leave a comment and let us know how to find them again!
Watching Chelsea come down the aisle was the best….my favorite part of the whole day…she was stunning, and her elation was catching!

Seriously, her dress though….isn’t it GORGEOUS!??

MARRIED!!!
Lauren Marchi did such a beautiful job on planning and coordinating their wedding! The details were so thought out and pulled together! She’s getting married this next year, and I can’t wait to see what she has planned for her day!
So many sweet moments….

Matt & Chelsea | In their own words…

How did the two of you meet?
We met in college (The Ohio State University), nine years ago, on an independent school newspaper. Matt was my predecessor Editor-in-Chief. We started dating while he was training me to take over the paper. We’re nerds.

What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
C: The pre-ceremony first look. It seems strange to pick a moment from before we were actually married. But I was incredibly nervous and spending some quiet time together before the ceremony really settled me. I felt like I enjoyed the ceremony more because the anxiety was gone. I was so excited to see him after waiting all day!
M: Kissing the bride.

Funniest memory from your day?
C: Watching my husband do the air guitar to “Welcome to the Jungle” with his tie wrapped around his head. Awesome.
M: My best man speeches.

What was your favorite detail?
C: The fireplace decor. The indoor/outdoor fireplace was covered in candles, twinkle lights, lanterns, and tree stumps; it was absolutely stunning.
M: I really liked the table for two during dinner. It gave us: 1) time to eat; and 2) some time to ourselves.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
C: I would have given Melissa more time to take her beautiful pictures! But it was still just perfect.
M: No, not really. And let me tell you, if think you would do something different, remember the point of these things isn’t to achieve perfection. It’s about all of the fun you have with your new wife or partner, and all the people who come out for you.

Any advice for future brides and grooms?

C: Everyone tells you “slow down, take everything in, don’t sweat the small stuff.” This is sound advice, but to be honest — that just isn’t me. So if you’re Type-A like me, here is my advice: give everyone an ample time window to arrive, be prepared, etc. If you think someone needs 15 minutes to do something, give them 30. This will help you relax, and even better, you’ll avoid stressing out someone who you want to enjoy the day. Oh: and wear smudge-proof lipstick. I’m so glad I did!
M: Don’t forget to enjoy the day, and be present for what is happening around you. You’ll only do this once, big guy (you hope anyway).

Tell me about your honeymoon.
We went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and it was beautiful. A trip to Mexico was a first for both of us. We read a lot and drank Margaritas and Pacifico.
