Ricky & Natalie | Colorado Wedding Photographer

I know very few things that I consider more of an honor than standing alongside someone as they declare their vows and promise to love the one their with. Last week, I had the honor of doing just that for my sister Natalie as she promised forever to her fiancé Ricky. Her wedding was photographed by one of my brides, and a friend of Natalie’s and I, Beth. You can find her work on Facebook under Beauty In The Ordinary and I know she’ll be sharing images from the wedding once she gets settled from her honeymoon. (Hope you’re having SO MUCH FUN, Beth and Mark!!! 🙂

Since I couldn’t be Natalie’s Matron of Honor and photograph her wedding, I was super honored when Natalie & Ricky asked if I would capture their first look before their wedding.  I know I’ve talked about my reasons for loving when couples opt for a First Look before, but it was so, so perfect for Natalie & Ricky. Natalie was feeling a little anxious while getting ready, and when she and Ricky first saw one another, all of that completely melted away and allowed them both to really enjoy their day together. And Ricky’s tears were definitely still streaming when my sister started her way down the aisle. It was so nice for them to get a chance to have pictures and a private moment just for them (with Beth and I and the videographer at a bit of a distance catching their interaction with our cameras). I know Natalie and Ricky will cherish the pictures from this moment forever, and I am so honored to have been able to capture them.

Natalie & Ricky, I love you both and hope you are safely on your way to San Francisco! I hope you love your sneak peek!! 🙂

Their wedding was held at Della Terra Chateau in Estes Park, CO. They have a lovely outside amphitheater where the wedding was planned to be held and the Chateau has a gorgeous open room for receptions and indoor weddings. Rain rolled in during the day and was much more than a threat, so the wedding was moved inside, thanks to the terrific staff at Della Terra. It was perfect and gorgeous, and thankfully, all was not lost for pictures because the reception area has beautiful large windows. YAY for available light!! 🙂
