Crey & Stephanie | Wedding Photographer

Would you rather be a bridesmaid or the photographer? I didn’t even have to think twice about which role I would prefer in my sis-n-law’s big day! Photog! Of course!!  🙂  Such a huge honor and one I don’t take for granted for even a moment. It was a beautiful, heart-felt, fun, and crazy day I will never forget and I know Crey & Stephanie won’t either!!

Stephanie looked stunning all.day.long.

While taking pictures of Crey and his guys, a crazy storm moved in. The chance of rain that day was only 10% the night before, so I honestly didn’t even see it coming, this was the sky overhead during the guys pics, and then things got crazy!

I high-tailed it back to the girls at the reception site to continue with pictures, and while we were on our way, torrential downpours began. Craziness. Steph’s main concern was that we weren’t going to be able to do pictures outside like we had planned, but I assured her we would still get pictures she would love and that we’d begin with her getting in her gown. So she went to get things set up with her girls, and then I got the call. You know the one….well…this particular one went something like this: “a transformer got STRUCK BY LIGHTENING and we DON’T HAVE POWER at the church and there is WATER IN THE FOYER”. WHAT?!!! HOLY COW!!!! So I quickly send my husband (Steph’s brother) off to the store to find battery operated speakers so that the music for the ceremony will be heard, put on a big this.wedding.day.is.the.easiest.I’ve.ever.photographed smile, and continued with pictures while whispering ‘Mum’s the Word’ to those in the know.

The sweet flower girls were so enamored with Stephanie in her gown.

Thankfully, just as we were pulling back into the church parking lot, I got a call back that the transformer was repaired and all of the water had been cleaned up, and Stephanie only found out about the craziness AFTER everything was repaired! Also super thankful to all of the friends and family who jumped to work making preparations, like candles and battery operated speakers, in case things didn’t pan out so well. Made my job SO much easier!!

In Their Own Words
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
C&S: For both of us it was the moment when we saw each other for the first time. It was a very special moment.
Any ideas for future brides & grooms?
C&S: Stay in the moment and try to enjoy each second because it flies by so fast, you feel like you blink and it’s over  🙂
What was your funniest memory from your wedding day?
C&S: Trying to get into the car after it had just poured down rain…and NOT getting my wedding dress soaked!!!
If you could do it all over again, would you change anything?
C&S: I loved everything about our wedding, I just wish it was longer!  🙂
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
C&S: Sandals La toc in St. Lucia!!! It was amazing!!! All-inclusive so we could just relax and enjoy our time together.
We went on a tour of the island where we went to a mud bath, natural hot spring, waterfall, snorkeled, toured the location where Pirates of the Carribean 2 was filmed, had an authentic creole lunch and did this all by boat. So fun!!! We also rented a sailboat and took a 5-minute lesson and we were off sailing around the island.  🙂  We did a spa treatment with a massage and foot scrub. AMAZING. The food at the resort was soooo good and the people of the island were super friendly… spoke english YAY! We went for 5 nights and would have loved to stay a couple more days if Crey didn’t have to leave for work. All-in-all, I absolutely LOVED our honeymoon!!

Crey and Stephanie, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day!! Even now as I work through your images, I feel so very honored. Welcome to the family, Crey!! I know Stephanie adores you as much as you do her, and we couldn’t be happier for you both!  🙂
