Getting Settled | Mobile, AL Photographer

We’ve been here a little over 2 weeks now, and it’s just now starting to feel like this is more than a visit. It’s a little tough because we’re in a short-term rental home – which is surprisingly a very nice house, but knowing that it’s short-term (until we are able to close on our new home) makes it hard to own it in my heart even if I’ve finished what unpacking I plan on doing. We love it here though! It’s been great getting acquainted with people and making new friendships. We’ve been greeted with surprisingly crisp (read Colorado-like) fall weather and changing leaves that I am extremely thankful for! The older boys are getting settled into school and we’re finding a new normal….yep…it’s starting to feel like home. I already have a library card…that makes it official, right?? And…wait for it….we bought chicks!! For those who know me, I’m sure this comes as a great shock…I am just about the LAST PERSON ON EARTH who would have farm animals around…but hey, it sounded like a fun project for the kids, and it’s been fun so far! 🙂

I’ve had fun working with Alabama light…. it’s surprisingly different than Colorado light. I’ve been documenting life as we know it, and can’t wait to get behind my lens for others around here! Thanks to Facebook, I’ve already been getting local session inquiries! Hopefully that means transitioning my business will be easier than I’d expected. 🙂 Here’s to making new friends!

And since this is a photo blog….here’s a bit of the view from here.

The boys on their first day…they were so excited…especially about the fact that they wear uniforms here!

It was Caden’s first day of school ever as we waited to enroll him in Pre-K until we moved…he was much more excited than his Mama.

I’ve really enjoyed the added one-on-one time I’ve gotten with my younger boys though! When you have 4 close together, one-on-one time is a hot commodity! 🙂
